This cap features the distinctive gold bullion oak leaf embroidery on the visor (commonly known as "Scrambled Eggs"), designating the rank of Major through Colonel. Manufactured by Berkshire De Luxe as a high-quality private purchase item. The size is an incredibly rare 7 3/4 (approx. 62 cm). Finding vintage headgear in this size is exceptionally difficult. An extremely rare transitional piece from the early Vietnam War! Up for sale is a genuine "U.S. ARMY" branch tape in the tactical subdued (black) format. What makes this piece highly sought after is the backing material: the text is embroidered directly onto a strip of iconic HBT (Herringbone Twill) fabric. This combination of the dark embroidery (introduced in 1966) and the older, durable HBT canvas from the Korean War era makes it a classic transitional artifact. The tape is in perfect, unissued New Old Stock (NOS) condition.

A massive relic of electronic warfare in Vietnam: The AN/QSG-126 Detection Transmitting Set, Acoustic. This 15kg air-delivered sensor was designed to be dropped onto the Ho Chi Minh Trail to detect Viet Cong movement as part of the secret Operation Igloo White (McNamara Line). This is an Inert / Training example dated 1968. It remains in excellent condition with the stabilizing fins still taped for storage.
