Since the Institute of Heraldry introduced these alphanumeric codes in 1965, this badge perfectly dates to the Vietnam War era through the 1970s. It shows honest wear and a beautiful, authentic patina.

The crisp ink stamp reads "CHASE BAG CO. 7-73-B", securely dating this piece to the very end of the Vietnam War in 1973. The bandoleer is in mint, unissued New Old Stock (NOS) condition. As a fantastic historical detail, it still features the original large safety pin attached to the shoulder strap, which soldiers used to adjust the length in the field.

Harper. The rig consists of a 1960s-produced steel pot (McCord) paired with a Korean War era fiberglass liner (Micarta) – a classic configuration for Vietnam. The liner boasts a beautiful crazed exterior patina and an original pinned rank insignia on the front. A superb named piece ready for research!
