This is the exceedingly rare early pattern, used prior to and during the very early stages of their Vietnam deployment. It features a solid black background with a white border, dating it before late 1964 when the yellow and red stripes of the Republic of Vietnam flag were added. The patch boasts the highly desirable flat "Cut Edge" border. Flawless, unissued New Old Stock (NOS) condition.
