It is in excellent, unissued New Old Stock (NOS) condition with a period-correct cut-edge.

A massive relic of electronic warfare in Vietnam: The AN/QSG-126 Detection Transmitting Set, Acoustic. This 15kg air-delivered sensor was designed to be dropped onto the Ho Chi Minh Trail to detect Viet Cong movement as part of the secret Operation Igloo White (McNamara Line). This is an Inert / Training example dated 1968. It remains in excellent condition with the stabilizing fins still taped for storage.

Originally issued to downed aviators, this high-intensity strobe became a favorite tool among special operations forces (MACV-SOG, LRRPs, SEALs) for marking LZs and signaling extraction choppers through the dense jungle canopy. This strobe is in beautiful collector condition and comes complete with its original nylon carrying pouch and the extremely rare, original vintage BA-1574/U battery (dated 1971). Due to the obsolete battery, functionality is untested; sold as a historical display piece.
