US Navy Experimental NWU Uniform Grouping | Variants B, C, D | Capt. Wood | Woodland & Digital Prototypes
Description
We offer an absolutely unique item for advanced collectors of American uniforms: A complete grouping of US Navy Task Force Test Uniforms. These are prototypes tested between 2004–2005 prior to the final adoption of the blue digital NWU Type I. The set includes three different color variants designated on the tags as NWU-B, NWU-C, and NWU-D. All uniforms originate from a single test subject, Captain Wood (name tapes on all pieces). This collection documents the evolution of the uniform design—from rounded collars with no bottom pockets to the finalized pointed collar design with cargo pockets. Manufactured by American Apparel, Inc. under contract N00140-04-C-0871.
