The U.S.S. Newport News (CA-148) moved from Norfolk on 5 September 1967 for a six-month deployment to Southeast Asia. She arrived at Da Nang, South Vietnam, on 9 October 1967 and became the flagship of ComCruDesFlot 3. She participated in attacks against targets in North Vietnam as part of Operation Sea Dragon. U.S.S. Newport News subsequently became involved in combat in Vietnam in 1968 and 1972.

Very interesting "tuned" set in Woodland camouflage size. M-R. The set comes from a former member of the US. Navy SEAL, who customized his uniform for a tropical environment. The blouse has the chest pockets resewn, a pocket has been added to the shoulder, and there is a whistle with a manufacture date of 2000. On the back, some of the fabric has been replaced with mesh. There is black velcro on the shoulders and shoulder.

The trousers have had the buttons on the pockets replaced with black velcro and drain holes have been added.

Experimental six-colour desert uniform (6D) from 1990. Blouse and trousers size large regular. Material ripstop. Velcro instead of buttons is used everywhere. The collar of the blouse is larger than the regular model. The lower pockets of the blouse are flat without gussets on the sides. The trousers have a zipped fly. Condition used without damage. Original packed M7 Imperial bayonet from the last contract in 1987. Outer cover is torn. The packaging of the bayonet and scabbard is intact.
